About
Damon has been playing in bands since 2004. His unique, primal style earned him success and notoriety with former band Sabotage Left, who gained plays on Radio One and even more success with his current project Bovine.
Bovine are a heavy mix of grunge and driven metal. Since they formed in early 2011, Bovine have gone from strength to strength, earning recognition across the live arena, playing with bands such as Baroness, Shapes, &U&I, Future of the Left and Turbowolf.
The release of their debut album ‘The Sun Never Sets on the British Empire’ has gained stellar reviews across the board, with Rocksound Magazine awarding it 8/10, and Kerrang! New music DJ Alex Baker likening it to ‘Clutch on steroids’, along with giving it heavy airplay.
Damon’s reputation is based on his energetic live performances and the abuse he subjects his drumkit to. Aquarian’s Performance II drumheads are more than capable of withstanding Damon’s powerhouse drumming and giving him the thunderous drum sound that is essential to Bovine’s music.
Bovine are set to make even bigger waves in 2013, with confirmed slots at 2000trees festival and Hevy fest, along with signing a deal with German label FDA Rekotz, and Damon hopes to be able to take Aquarian along for the ride.
As a drum specialist and department manager at Professional Music Technology in Birmingham, Damon is also in a key position of influence and hopes to be able to continue his relationship with the Aquarian drumhead company as a retailer as well as a fan and player of the product.
