About

Jimmy started playing at 10 years old. A few months after receiving his first drum set he landed a TV show alongside the late River Phoenix. A few months later he was doing theater in LA as a cast member and musician. By 14 he started his first band Polo that would end up in regular rotation at Disneyland as well as winning Starsearch and performing on numerous telethons. By 18 he had started getting calls for sessions and tours. It expanded from there. "I was lucky to have a huge family with all kinds of music playing at all times. As I grew as a musician, I just continued that trend of listening to everything. Consequently, I get calls from R&B artists as often as rock, pop and country artists."

One of the producers that called for a variety of artists called one day in a jam. He was presenting songs to a well know artist and was getting very standard, stale drum tracks from the so called "A" list guys. By the time Jimmy was called, numerous guys had failed. Fortunately for Jimmy, they now knew what they didn't want and were a bit more clear on what they did. Jimmy, along with the great Mike Porcaro (Toto) started tweaking with the songs and adding little ideas that made everything come to life. The artist liked the tracks so much, he decided to keep these tracks (instead of replacing them with his band as originally planned) and finish the album with these songs. The artist was Carlos Santana and the album was Supernatural (15 million copies sold, 9 Grammies, etc...). 2010, Carlos is marking the 10th anniversary of this landmark album with a "Legacy" addition that includes many unreleased songs.

Look for Supernatural as well as the new release from Spock's Beard. Jimmy plays drums for the mighty Beard alongside fellow Aquarian artist Nick D'Virgilio for the live shows and was recently in the studio adding some vocals to the new album.
