About

A Chicago native, drummer Joey Williams has dedicated himself to perfecting his craft and to adding to a well-known reputation established by other talented musicians who have hailed from this famous city. Joey's work ethic has earned him the honor of being deemed the "drummer of drummers". He has been recognized as one of the industry’s most prolific musicians and is known to be skilled in all genres.

Joey began playing drums at the early age of 3. He beat on pots and pans; table saw blades, and anything else that remotely resembled a drum or cymbal. Joey soon developed a true passion for drums which fueled him to appreciate all genres of music.

"I used to rock-out to MTV after school, listening to Def Leopard & Guns 'n Roses while everyone else was listening to hip hop." - Joey Williams

This passion, love for all music, and dedication to his craft, would allow Joey the opportunity to begin working as a professional musician at 13 years old. It was at that age when he earned his first gig playing for gospel artist, Mark S. Hubbard and The United Voices For Christ. Joey would go on to play for an alternative band and continued to climb the ladder of success in the music industry by playing with various major and local artists.

Joey has provided musical accompaniment for a plethora of major and independent recording projects and has been frequently seen honing his craft on television and via the internet. However, in 2011, Joey decided to take a leap of faith and released his debut album, titled "JOURNEY". This album's deliberate assortment of musical genius further illustrates that Joey has truly mastered the art of bringing music to life. Joey's smooth rhythmic combinations and liquid-fast solos allow every listener to experience the pure adventure of his heartfelt art.

"He's one of the best drummers on the planet! Joey is the new buzz in the drum community."
- Carlos Benson, Director & Founder of Drummers for Jesus

Joey's musical maturity and mastery of the instrument has afforded him the consideration to be included among the best of today's premiere musicians. Joey has accomplished much, and yet, is still destined for greater. His musical resume reads like the “Who’s Who” of the industry's talented elite and respected. When asked how he wants to be remembered, Joey offered:

"I'm a lover, provider, friend, protector, listener, Minstrel, leader, thriver, artist, composer, producer, writer, adventurist, prayer warrior, understanding, pleaser, fighter, thinker, silly, humble, outsider, cautious, Man of action, and a LOVER OF GOD!!!"
