Mark Heaney began playing at the age of eight and by the time he was ten he was playing three to four nights a week in dance halls and clubs all over the Uk. He has been playing ever since.
Mark is currently the drummer for post punk legends Gang of Four. He has recorded and collaborated on countless sessions and tours and worked with such artists as John Squire, The Seahorses, Jacknife Lee, The Freelance Hellraiser, The Shining, The Klaxons, Howie Day, Hugh Turner, Nick Mccabe, Badly Drawn Boy, Shit Disco, Gail Ann Dorsey, Andy Gill, Gang of Four, Youth, the list keeps growing.
Mark has performed at venues such as The Royal Festival Hall, V festivals, Slane Castle, T in the Park, Reading Festivals, Glastonbury, Olympic Stadium, Benicassim, Download Festivals, Jools Holland, to name a few and has toured extensively all over the world.
Mark is also a composer and producer and creates his own soundscapes for film and TV using live drums and samples and released his first solo drum album "Drum Room" in 2010. Mark's album received 4 out of 5 stars in UK drumming magazine Rhythm in September 2009.
Mark is renowned for his intense heavy groove playing, impeccable feel, musicality, endless creativity and frightening speed and finesse, which combined make him one of the worlds greatest drummers.
