"I grew up playing calfskin drumheads, from a young kid studying the drums to landing the drum chair with Benny Goodman in my early 20′s. Every night we would play "Sing, Sing, Sing", the song that made Gene Krupa famous. That calfskin sound was soaked into me because the song featured the tom toms all the way through and I played it every night for 3 years. I remember thinking we will never be able to reproduce this sound with plastic heads. I am proud to say that Aquarian Drumheads has achieved the impossible! Our new Modern Vintage II and Deep Vintage II drumheads sound as good as the calf heads I played on "Sing, Sing", Sing" in 1958 with Benny Goodman."
