AQUARIAN QC1000
AQUARIAN Raises The Bar On Quality In Drumheads
Along with all new state-of-the-art machinery Aquarian has implemented a new approach to quality control called QC1000. Devolped by Aquarian engineers it features "hands on" check points at critical stages of the manufacturing process plus computer analysis of testing results. QC1000 is a combination of testing methods developed into one cohesive system to optimize testing accuracy. QC1000 represents the best of human observation along with in depth computer analysis of pertinent data. Products are checked against blue prints, existing products and established testing procedures that combine computers with highly skilled personnel. According to owners Roy Burns and Ron Marquez, "Our quality is at an all time high and our sales are up worldwide. The best of both worlds!"

Tru-Bounce Practice Pad!
The Tru-Bounce practice pad provides an active playing surface of specially selected neoprene for a true and accurate response. Comfortable to play on without the "overly-springy" feel of traditional gum rubber. Even at the softest volumes, each stick note is articulated and can be heard. The result is a more accurate rebound that helps to develop control, strength and speed. It makes you work a little harder (but not too hard) when practicing.
Enclosed with the Tru-Bounce pad is a FREE pair of Power-Sleeve 5A drumsticks. Also included is a teacher approved rudiment sheet and two "Fact Sheets" by Roy Burns which cover some warm-up excersizes and tuning tips.

PAS Hall Of Fame!
Roy Burns has been inducted into the Percussive Arts Society Hall Of Fame! This is a high form of recognition for outstanding accomplishments and artistic contributions to the world of percussion.
Roy Burns is one of the very few drummers whose career has encompassed virtually every aspect of drumming and the music business. He has been a big band drummer, teacher, author, clinician, featured soloist, studio drummer, publisher and now the co-owner of Aquarian Drumheads.
Roy joins a select group of only 97 percussionists chosen to receive this honor during the 47 year history of PAS. The presentation of the award will take place November 7th at 7:00PM at the Austin Convention Center in Austin Texas. Everyone at Aquarian would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Roy for being selected to receive such an honor.

Spock's Beard "Live!"
With their previous three releases, ‘Spock’s Beard’, ‘Feel Euphoria’, and ‘Octane’, Spock’s Beard has proved that despite the departure of founding member Neal Morse, they continue their reign as one of the best prog bands, on the scene. The Californian quartet has continued to seek new forms of expression, with a focus on combining complex compositions with a more song oriented feel.
In support of their latest album ‘Spock’s Beard’, the band played a 15 date tour throughout Europe in 2007. This all encompassing tour, took the band through eight European countries, solidifying their position as one of the top live artists on the Progressive Rock scene.
On May 25th 2007, Spock’s Beard fans from the Dutch town of Zoetermeer were treated to a performance that they will never forget. The local hall “Beorderij” has always been a home for Progressive Rock and for Spock’s Beard in particular. This concert was filmed and recorded for a DVD and Double CD live album.
An enthusiastic audience and a breathtaking performance, makes Spock’s Beard “Live” DVD and Double-CD a very special release. NEW SUPER-2 Heads
SUPER-2 DRUMHEADS
"A New Kind of Two Ply Head"
In the past, two ply heads had either attack with little or no depth or they had depth with little or no attack. SUPER-2 drumheads have great attack, a rich mid-range and a powerful bottom end and depth. SUPER-2 drumheads sound louder, fuller and more powerful than conventional two ply heads. The patented Safe-T-Loc hoop prevents the head from slipping and the "Sound Curve" collar design provides "Responsive Tuning". With Responsive Tuning, one small turn of the drum key and the SUPER-2 heads react. A free tuning sheet is enclosed with each SUPER-2 drumhead. Attack with bottom end, projection with power and "Responsive Tuning" are what SUPER-2's are all about.
Application: For any drummer looking for more tone, more power and projection for today's music.
*pictured are the clear SUPER-2's and the clear SUPER-2 with Studio-X ring. They are also available coated or clear with a Power Dot.

"Timetable"
Roy was going through some memorabilia at home and ran across a solo he performed in 1965. The staff at Aquarian heard it, thought it was pretty amazing and decided we should ask Roy if we could post it on our website. After being constantly hounded, he relented and said "OK". The solo is an excerpt from a tune called "Timetable"(follow the link and click "Audio File 1") which was debuted at the 19th annual Mid-West National Band Conference in Chicago. This tune was put on a souvenier album which was later given out to those who attended the conference. The clinic was sponsored by Rogers Drums. This solo is approximately 11 minutes long(Yes, it goes to 11) so be patient while downloading.
Enjoy!!!
JUST ADDED!
A recent Roy solo has surfaced from 1976. This solo was performed in New York as one of the stops for a Rogers Drum Clinic Tour. Follow the link and click "Audio File 2".
