Danny Farrant, drummer in the legendary band Buzzcocks and inspirational drum educator, is running two days of drum workshops which he describes as “non-drum clinics” at Coexist in the heart of Bristol’s creative district.
Aimed at drummers of all levels, aged 11 up, the sessions are totally interactive.
"How many times have you been to a drum clinic or performance and felt that all you wanted to do is join in?" Danny has designed the workshops with this in mind and says, “There just aren’t enough opportunities for drummers to work together and get something amazing happening.  This is partly due to lack of space, noise restrictions and equipment limitations but we’ve got the gear and the venue so come and join like-minded noisemakers and help us create a glorious cacophony of percussion, drums and beats in Bristol.”
Danny has teamed up with production company and the performance at the end of each session will be filmed in glorious high definition by a professional cameraman and sound recordist.  Students will get a copy to take away on their mobile phone or download when they get home and the performance can even count towards GCSE and BTEC coursework.
The workshops, which are being supported by Protection Racket and Aquarian Drumheads, will run on the 2nd and 3rd of June at Coexist, Hamilton House, Bristol BS1 3QY.
