Playing in his home studio, Toss Panos gives us a glimpse into the drum sound he hears in his head. The groove doesn’t end, it’s infectious.
His drum sound is awesome, but his approach to drumhead selection is not conventional.
This kit is outfitted with a variety of Aquarian drumhead models that fit the sound he’s looking for: A Superkick being used on the front of his 22″ bass drum for resonance with control. An offset duraDOT being placed on a Jack DeJohnette 16″ head on his floor tom to focus the low frequencies. A ‘left-hand’ snare drum that uses drumKIT TOOLS to get that “prepared snare drum” effect. This creative Aquarian head combination and treatment is all Toss!
His impromptu performance shows why his approach to the kit and his drum sound makes him a favorite among musicians everywhere.
