Beginning his career as a rock and metal drummer, Doug has performed and recorded with numerous bands and artists, released multiple albums and toured extensively throughout the United States and Canada supporting national and international artists. Over the course of his career, Doug has developed a thoughtful and intentional approach to his drumming that continues to make him a sought after drummer for live performance, recording and session work across a variety of musical styles and genres. Doug’s passion for drum education began early and has become an increasingly important part of his career ever since. He has taught thousands of drummers of all ages and skill levels, with many going on to pursue careers as professional musicians. His individualized teaching approach combines strong musical fundamentals, technique and real-world performance experience to help each drummer develop their own voice and reach their goals. Doug is the founder of The DrumSpot, where he continues to create his own brand of educational content and teach in person sessions while developing a new online drum education platform designed to bring his personalized approach to drummers everywhere.
