Steve Moretti
Drummer, percussionist, producer, and engineer Steve Moretti is a two-time Grammy® Award nominee, Juno nominee, and winner of two Telly Awards. Renowned for his versatility and artistic precision, Steve has earned a reputation as one of the most sought-after drummers on both the international stage and in recording studios. His performances have been hailed as 'powerful' (World-Herald) and 'full of subtle nuance and excitement' (Cleveland Classic). Steve’s expansive recording career spans over 40 nationally released albums, and he made his film debut performing live in Clint Eastwood’s Jersey Boys (2014). His collaborative roster includes icons such as Josh Groban, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Rosemary Clooney, The Pointer Sisters, Kandi Burruss, Michael Brecker, Joe Henderson, and many others. Widely engaged for symphonic drum set performances, Steve has appeared with renowned orchestras including The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, The Cleveland Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He has also made festival appearances in Banff, Rome (Italy), Seattle, ChamberFest West, and Samoana (Samoa). In the gaming world, Steve co-produced and performed on the cinematic score for the globally celebrated video game Honor of Kings, and brought rhythmic firepower to the trailer for Snap & Grab, released across Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam. He is the co-founder, President, and CEO of Macon Pops—an innovative pops orchestra in his hometown of Macon, GA—founded in partnership with longtime collaborator Matt Catingub. Through his production company, Morettiman Music, Steve continues to record, mix, and master projects for clients worldwide. His live concert recordings have aired on NPR’s Performance Today, and his production credits include music for the nationally televised PBS special A Grand Mercer Christmas and a wide array of studio releases spanning pop, rock, country, hip-hop, and classical genres. In his most recent project, Steve produced the London Symphony Orchestra for Navona Records, highlighting the works of composer Christopher Allen Schmitz—including a Violin Concerto featuring Amy Schwartz Moretti and the premiere of Schmitz’s Symphony conducted by Stefan Sanderling. Steve has served three terms on the Board of Governors for the Atlanta Chapter of the Recording Academy and is proudly endorsed by Pearl Drums, Paiste Cymbals, Aquarian Drum Heads, Audix Microphones, Future Sonics Ear Monitors, Audeze Headphones, and Vic Firth Sticks.
